Bio: The Velazquez Family Singers (VFS) is a Bronx-based gospel and inspirational group known for their unique blend of classical vocal training and contemporary soul. Led by their father, Victor Velazquez—a classically trained tenor and member of the historic Opera Ebony—the group features his three children: Alexia, Victoria, and Emmanuel Velazquez.
The family rose to prominence in the mid-2000s, winning the McDonald’s Gospelfest in 2006 and 2007. Their sound is defined by intricate four-part harmonies and powerful operatic influences, which earned them two Stellar Award nominations for "Children’s Project of the Year" following the release of their 2009 debut album, Family & Friends.
Beyond the gospel charts, VFS became known for high-profile performances on BET’s Black Girls Rock!, sharing the stage with artists like Jill Scott and Raven-Symoné. Deeply committed to philanthropy, they also released the 2010 single "While We Still Have Time" to raise funds for Haitian earthquake relief, cementing their legacy as a group that uses music for both artistic excellence and social impact.
