About: ALEXIA is a singer, songwriter, and Broadway actress who blends traditional and contemporary art forms through musical storytelling. Her sound is primarily rooted in alternative r&b and pop, with significant influences of pop-rock, funk, church-choir, and hip-hop music. Influenced by vocal performers like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and songwriters like Frank Ocean, Jill Scott, and Alanis Morissette, ALEXIA channels a sound that feels intimate and soulful through a lens that reflects both her heritage and lived experience.

ALEXIA’s artistry and professional experience spans across music, media, theater, and arts leadership. Previously, she was the lead vocalist of the genre-blending band Chrysalis, where she helped craft a forward-thinking sound that earned critical recognition, including praise from AFROPUNK.com, which described the group as “redefining contemporary music as we know it.” She is also the Cofounder and Artistic Director of the theater company, Women of Color on Broadway Inc, where she co-produced the television special House Seats: Women of Color on Broadway on PBS, and directed the short-musical-film Summertime featuring Grammy award winning recording artist Samara Joy. She has since collaborated with MAC Cosmetics, Playbill, PBS, BET, and UMG France, and has appeared in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including Alicia Keys’ Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen.
